The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education. The membership of the DAR consists of over 170,000 members in 3,000 chapters in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and international chapters in Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, and Russia. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership regardless of race, religion or ethnic background.

Members of the NSDAR, Pittsburgh Chapter have the opportunity to connect with others with similar interests and to work toward shared goals of historic preservation, education and patriotism. Lifelong friendships are established through activities, events and philanthropy. All of the 126 members make integral contributions in this service-oriented chapter. No matter what your interests or skills are, there is an outlet for your talent. The diverse life experiences of the membership allow the Pittsburgh Chapter to adapt and to respond to the needs of today.
