The Fort Pitt Block House is where Pittsburgh began and it is the goal of the Fort Pitt Society to ensure that it continues to stand so that future generations can know and appreciate the important role our region played in history.  As a privately owned landmark, the Block House receives no state or federal funding.  And yet, for over 100 years, the Fort Pitt Society has kept the site open to the public and free of charge.  Each year we host hundreds of children on school field trips and welcome tens of thousands of visitors from across the region and around the world.  However, we can’t do it alone.  We need your help to support our preservation efforts and ongoing educational programming as well as simply to keep our doors open.

The Block House is a cultural and historical landmark of national significance located in the heart of the city of Pittsburgh.  Please help us keep this little piece of history alive.  With your donation you are joining with us as a partner in our mission to preserve, protect and promote the Fort Pitt Block House.
